Wednesday 24th May 2017 @ Club Workspace Southbank
Welcome to The SEO Social, the place to learn about search and network with your peers over some beers. 😉
We are back again, with another great evening of talks for you! This time around, we’ll be tackling the rapidly developing landscape of the Digital Marketing industry. We’ll be talking with Jono and Hannah about the role of new technology and how it affects our consumer behaviours, as well as discussing the fast-moving trends of the SEO industry and sharing tips around how to know what trend is actually here to stay!
After our interval (and the all-important pizza!), we will be furthering this theme; speaking with Charlie of Screaming Frog. Through his work with e-commerce clients, Charlie will be sharing the importance of Keywords and audience research today, and will be providing an insight into some of the many tools available to us.
This will be a really insightful event, intimate enough that you can discuss the themes directly with the speakers in our panel discussion. With space for up to 70, tickets are going to go quickly for this one! We would like to invite you straight from work for 6.30pm, to unwind with your peers over some drinks and pizza at Club Workspace’s base on Southbank (near the OXO Tower). We will be networking from 6.30pm and guest talks will begin around 7.00pm. You’re in for some excellent case studies and thought-provoking insights, so please book now to avoid disappointment.
Hiring managers are welcome and if you are interested in hosting or sponsoring an event (and would like to get a taste of what we do), please get in touch with Myles McMorrow and we can hold you a ticket!

The Experience Age Has Arrived – Digital Marketing In A New Era
Consumer behaviour is changing. Emerging and converging technologies, new platforms, and shifting economies are changing how we research, consume and spend. The way in which you think about markets, websites, purchase funnels and business needs to change, too, otherwise you risk being left behind. From driverless cars and 3D printing, to personal assistants and machine learning, attendance is a must for those who wish to arm themselves for the next revolution.
Jono has over a decade of blended experience in digital marketing, with expertise in SEO, analytics, brand strategy, campaign strategy, lead generation, eCRM automation, conversation rate optimisation and web development – from defining the ‘big picture’ and strategic direction, right down to getting his hands dirty in the nitty-gritty technical detail.
He’s worked with agencies, startups, household brands and FTSE 100 companies to define, support and deliver successful SEO, content, analytics and brand strategies at an international level.
Additionally, he’s a well-respected international speaker & presenter, trainer, and workshop leader on topics ranging from the future of digital marketing, to hardcore website performance optimisation.

Optimising for Tomorrow, Today
How do you decide what to do next when the world of digital is constantly changing? When it comes to assigning your time and budget, you’re faced with the challenge of a finite resource yet infinite choices. It’s frustrating to spend your time on the latest marketing trend for it to disappear overnight and be replaced by the next big thing. Instead, I propose that we focus on testing each new SEO craze against clear criteria to determine if it’s here for good or a passing fad, and then assign our time accordingly. It’s all about taking back control over our ever-changing ecosystem.
Hannah Thorpe is Head of SEO at White.net, an integrated digital marketing agency. She works with clients to produce multi-platform campaigns through every stage from ideation through to completion.
Hannah’s role covers everything from leading complex technical strategies, to creating innovative content campaigns and harnessing data to drive results
