Leslie Fountain, Executive Director @ Foolproof

Shifting culture

A company that is 140 years old and has compliance and regulatory guidelines based on the days of print, have a lot of hurdles to get over to shift to an ‘agile’ UX design and iterate way of working!

Leslie will share the story of how a pharmaceutical, through working with a UX agency, started to shift its culture from one that was marketing led, to user and customer led. By understanding their perspective and pain points, Leslie will share how she helped them to shift from pushing products and messages to servicing real needs.

As Executive Director at Foolproof Leslie has the luxury of combining her passion for human-centered design with helping some of the world’s biggest brands to solve complex design challenges.  She feels fortunate to be leading and nurturing an international team which contains some of the best talent in the industry.

Over the past couple of years Leslie has been working within healthcare, helping organisations transform their digital thinking and business culture.

Throughout her career Leslie has learnt from and worked with inspirational leaders who, like her, are driven to push the boundaries of experience design and give back to the communities they’ve learnt from.  Because of this, Leslie is a regular speaker at industry events, sharing her stories and experiences, and is an active member of SDN UK, UXPA and BIMA.

Before Foolproof Leslie was the Joint Managing Director at System Concepts, where she helped to build their UX team and worked with clients such as Amadeus, Microsoft and the New York Stock Exchange.
